For more than 20 years, ExxonMobil Foundation has sponsored the Community
Summer Jobs Program in Houston, which provides college undergraduates
paid summer internships.
The program provides financial grants to nonprofit agencies that allow them to hire college students. At the same time, students receive valuable work experience and an opportunity to make a significant impact in the community.
The success of the program reaches beyond work accomplished through the internships each summer. Many former interns pursue full-time careers in the non-profit sector after being exposed to the powerful impact these organizations have in the Houston area.
Agencies interested in participating must be located in Harris or Montgomery Counties and registered as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization or government-funded agency. Please visit the Apply page for detailed guidelines and application information.
Students interested in participating must be currently enrolled
undergraduate students returning to college full-time as a sophomore, junior or senior in the fall following the summer program. Internship opportunities and instructions for applying can be found on the Apply page as they become available.
"I had an amazing experience this summer that exceeded my expectations and really opened my eyes to the ins and outs of nonprofits. This internship just confirmed my aspirations of working in the nonprofit field and really was the job of my dreams." –Amanda, former intern
"This program is so helpful for students. I feel like our intern learned a lot this summer, but so did our staff. It's always great to have a young person in the office to keep you up to date and to be able to see things through a different set of eyes - a new and fresh perspective!" –Victoria, former supervisor
